I really like what Maggi Dawn has to say about the old and new wine and winekins in relation to church … she talks about wine making being an organic process and that change does happen WITHIN even though it’s very slow
she also writes that old and new can and should co-exist
e.g. who would have thought that growing wine at high altitudes in South America would ever be worthwhile
and
who would have thought that meeting in a pub on a Tuesday night or creating events in parks or beaches on a Sat could be a legitimate way of being church
but most importantly she write
“Experimental ways of doing church need vision, they need enough space and freedom to try and fail a few times until a good mix emerges”
